There was an issue with comments not loading the next page when 'Next' was clicked. This has been resolved so you may now view multiple pages of comments.

I'm currently working on the problem of avatars not being uploaded and shown in user comments. So for the time being, the default avatar will show up for everyone. I'll post again once this has been fixed, sorry for the inconvenience.

Welcome to Rock-Dots.com, we've been dying to show everyone what has been behind that holding page for a long time. We know the launch date of this site has been set and delayed more than a few times, but it was due to the fact that our idea needed refining and re-designing. What started out as a skeleton of a blank page with circles has turned into something both Matt and I never expected. We can say with confidence that this design is the best one to date and will be the face of Rock-Dots for the long run. Along the way I'll be adding some improvements and making slight changes, but nothing drastic.

So what exactly is Rock-Dots anyway? Well, in short we're a music advertising site geared toward bands and fans of the rock genre.

For Bands, we're offering a brand new way of advertising your music through a unique platform: the map of the United States. Bands big and small all have the same amount of exposure with not one group dominating others because they pay more money. You're represented by a Rock-Dot in the state your band originates from and are placed randomly inside of it. The way new fans discover you is by simply rolling their mouse over your dot. Almost instantaneously, 30 seconds of your uploaded track will play as well as an box with brief information about your band. If your Rock-Dot is clicked, then the user will be sent to your band's profile where a more detailed description and links will be made available.

For Fans, you're going to experience a new, more interactive method of uncovering your next favorite band. We've gotten rid of the standard process of loading pages to hear a band's song. Instead, all you need to do is interact with the Rock-Dots Map, click a state, and roll your mouse over any Rock-Dot. In an instant, you'll hear the best 30 seconds of a song chosen by the band to represent them. This way you can discover more bands easily, but more importantly quickly. If you happen to find a band you enjoy, then just click the Rock-Dot and you'll be sent to their profile page. All of the necessary information about that band will be located there as well as the full length version of their song.

Still confused or unsure about the Rock-Dots concept? No problem, we feel the best way is to test it out for yourself by going to the Rock-Dots Map or you can visit the FAQ page to read about it some more.

Finally, we'd like to thank Senses Fail as signing on as our first ever Rock-Dot and supporting the site. Also, we want to say thank you also to the other 19 bands who signed up when we first opened registration for a brief period of time. You supported something you didn't even get a chance to see (until today) and we were amazed by it.
